2011-12:  First Team All-OVC... OVC All-Tournament Team... OVC 'Golfer of the Week' (10/26/11)... finished a steller Panther career by not only leading all EIU golfers behind a 72.2 stroke average, but also had the best mark in the entire Ohio Valley Conference... earned All-OVC First Team honors while tying for second at the end-of-season league championship, which naturally also helped him to earn a spot on the OVC All-Tournament squad... his six Top 20 finishes included two individual medalist honors at both the Wasioto Winds Fall Kickoff and the SIUE Intercollegiate... besides tying for second at league meet, he also had runner-up honors at the Butler Fall Invite... led all Panther golfers in five events over the course of the season... ends his career with an impressive 74.8 stroke average behind 71 rounds and 5,309 total shots... Capital One Academic All-District V honors.

2010-11:  OVC 'Golfer of the Week' (9/29/10)... had an nice junior campaign... was squad runner-up with a 76.1 stroke average... had four Top 20 finishes, with a season-best seventh place standing at the season-opening DePaul Fall Invite... tied for 19th twice, including finishing in that spot at the end-of-year Ohio Valley Conference championship... Capital One Academic All-District V honoree.

2009-10: Competed in all nine events as a sophomore, finishing with a 76.2 stroke average... includes placing ninth at the fall opener at the Wasiota Wins Fall Kickoff, where he finished the three-round meet at even par ... added two more Top 25 finishes, placing 24th twice as well.

2008-09: Saw action in four events as a true freshman... fired a season-best 37th place finish at the DePaul Invitational to open the fall season... ended up with a 78.5 stroke average.

HS: Played golf, basketball and baseball for coaches Joe Irwin and Marty Johnson at Moline HS... was 20th at the 3A IHSA state meet as a senior... also earned Western Big 6 All-Conference honors... named team captain and MVP his final season... finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA, earning a place on the Honor Roll... garnered the Richard J. Collins Scholar-Athlete Award.

PERSONAL: Son of Tom & Donna Lawrence... No. 1 personal sports moment was ‘finishing All-Conference and All-State after breaking my wrist at the beginning of the season my senior year”... credits his dad with having the biggest influence on his career “because he taught me to love and respect the game of golf from a fairly young age”... admires Tiger Woods “simply because he has the ability to perform at his best when it really matters.”

OFF THE LINKS WITH DAVID:  ‘D-Law’ chose to come to EIU “because of the level of athletics as well as the academic and athletic scholarship opportunities... plus coach Moncel's ability to help me improve”... his favorite tv shows are Two and a Half Men and Dexter... also enjoys playing basketball, ping pong and anything competitive... since coming to EIU he has learned “what it takes to push my golf game to the next level”... enjoys dining on his grand's meatballs and his grandpa's fried potatoes... his family owns a a schnauzer named ‘Teddy’... one of his favorite quotes is from teammate Sean Dozier, “99% of putts left short don’t go in”... would enjoy trading places with former Panther Lucas Mannix for one day, “because of his accent."
