Biography

2010: Bracken played in 27 games and started four times, all in center field… was EIU’s primary pinch runner, scoring the go-ahead run on a suicide squeeze bunt in the 10th inning of the OVC Tournament win against Southeast Missouri… started games against UAB, Akron, Illinois and Tennessee Tech… reached base safely in three of his eight plate appearances when leading off an inning… walked and scored EIU’s lone run in the spring break trip game against Akron… scored the game-tying run in the ninth inning as a pinch runner in games at Belmont and Jacksonville State… recorded his first collegiate hit with a single at Illinois… walked and singled in the opener of the Tennessee Tech series… also scored as a pinch runner against Murray State, Missouri and Illinois State.

2009: Bracken played in three games off the bench before a shoulder injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season… plans to apply for a medical redshirt… scored as a pinch runner against Butler and Louisville… drew a walk and flew out to right field in the March 8 win against Milwaukee.

HIGH SCHOOL: Bracken was a three-year letter-winner for coaches Jared Durham and Jimmy Gross… also lettered three times in football… honorable mention all-state as a senior… three-time all-district and two-time all-region performer… senior year team captain… helped lead FCHS to three straight District 28 titles… two-time all-district wide receiver and kick returner in football… honor roll student… also played for the Hikes Point Lobos summer team.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was winning the 2007 regional championship with his summer team… his grandfather has been a major influence on his sports career because "he has been the main person supporting me and my athletic interests, and the main reason why I play baseball"… most admires his former AAU coach Tim Brian because "he has taught me everything I know about baseball and has coached me since I was five years old"… his cousin Tony Brackens played football at the University of Texas and later for the Jacksonville Jaguars… son of Charles and Lafaye MarshallMAJOR: Biological Sciences.
