BOBBY CATCHINGS’S COLLEGIATE CAREER

JUNIOR (2006-07): Appeared in all 30 games win 28 starts... second on team in both scoring (10.1) and rebounding (5.1) averages... scored in double figures in 18 games with a season high 18 against Louisiana Monroe and Eastern Kentucky... picked up first career double-double against Arkansas State with 10 points and 12 rebounds... also had a season high 12 rebounds in second double-double of the season against Samford to go along with 12 points in game broadcast on ESPN2... shot 40 percent from the field and 72 percent from the free throw line... enters senior season with 810 career points and 376 career rebounds.

SOPHOMORE (2005-06): Started 24 of 27 games averaging 26.2 minutes per game...ranked third on team with 9.4 points per game...second leading rebounder on squad with 4.6 rebounds per game...led team in scoring in six games including a team-best 32 points at Missouri-Kansas City (Dec. 30)...connected on 12-of-18 from the floor and 5-of-7 from 3-point range against UMKC...pulled down a season-high 9 rebounds during three games including season finale against Samford (Feb. 25).

FRESHMAN (2004-05): Started final 15 games of the season, appearing in all 28...ranked third on team with 9 points per game and was in double-figure scoring in eight of his 15 starts...shot 44.7 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from 3-point range and 63 percent from the line...second on team with 22 blocks with four games of 3 blocks...season-high 22 points with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks against Tennessee-Martin...scored 15 against OVC champion Tennessee Tech.

FRESHMAN (2003-04): Redshirted at EIU.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played high school basketball for coach Todd Sutton at Naperville’s Neuqua Valley High...named Daily Herald Area Player of the Year, Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-State, Chicago Sun-Times All-Area as a senior...unanimous All-Upstate Eight Conference... ESPN 1000 Radio Player of the Week...3-point champion in the regional tournament and participant in the Slam Dunk competition...holds school record for single game rebounds and blocks in a game and career...NVHS was the undefeated Upstate Eight champion in 2002 and lost in the sectional championship during his junior season.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was "making a buzzer beater to win the regional championship"...son of Robert and Denise Catchings...father played basketball at the University of Oregon...cousin, Tamika, played for the USA Gold Medal team at the 2004 Athens Olympics and is with the Indiana Fever of the WNBA...Kenny and David Irons (cousins) played football at Auburn University...credits his father as being major influence on his career because he "taught me how to play the game"...most admires Michael Jordan because he "always got the job done no matter the situation or his physical condition... majoring in finance.
