SENIOR (2017): Appeared in 18 games while making five starts on the mound... finished the year with a 1-0 record in 38 1/3 innings pitched while striking out 26 batters... made first career start on the mound on Mar. 25 against Murray State... allowed just one earned run over four innings pitched in first start... earned first career win on May 9 at Chicago State... totaled a career-high six strikeouts in six innings at Chicago State...

JUNIOR (2016): Appeared in nine games out of the bullpen... pitched 8 1/3 innings and struck out 13 batters... had longest outings of the season of 2.0 innings pitched at UT Martin on May 13 and against Butler on May 16... Totaled a season-high four strikeouts at UT Martin and against Butler... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

SOPHOMORE (2015): Played in nine games making two starts... played eight games in the field and made two appearances on the mound... hit .385 going 5-for-13... drove in a run against Murray State on March 28... was 2-for-4 against Illinois College and Butler... made pitching debut against Illinois College with one inning of work on April 15...

FRESHMAN (2014): Played in 11 games, making one start… hit .231 with three hits, a run and a double…made his first career start against Illinois College on April 9… played in his first career game at No. 14 Louisiana-Lafayette on Feb. 15.

HIGH SCHOOL: Named to the all-conference first team as a junior… also selected to the Sauk Valley All-Area First Team… was an all-conference scholar athlete… posted a .442 batting average with 46 hits, 30 runs and 35 RBI in the spring of 2012… also had nine doubles and 19 stolen bases… recorded a 2.08 ERA in 60 innings pitched… also posted a 3-4 record in 16 games with 109 strikeouts... was a varsity letterwinner in basketball as a sophomore and junior.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Roger and Julie Cain… grandfather played baseball at Southern Illinois in 1945.
