Biography

2010: OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll... Voitik played in 14 games and started four times at designated hitter, including all three games of the series against Austin Peay… also saw action as a defensive replacement at catcher… one of two EIU position players that did not commit an error… enjoyed a productive game at Saint Louis, executing a squeeze bunt to along with a single, walk and a run scored… walked twice in the finale of the Austin Peay series.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Voitik played his first two collegiate seasons at Joliet Junior College, helping Joliet win the 2008 NJCAA Division III national championship… batted .351 with 56 RBIs and 18 doubles as an All-Illinois N4 Conference and All-Region IV honoree… Joliet was also the runner-up at the 2007 JUCO World Series… attended Augusta State (Georgia) in the fall of 2008 before transferring to EIU at the beginning of the 2009 spring semester.

HIGH SCHOOL: he played for Jeff Petrovic… also played football… was a First Team All-Southwest Prairie Conference and Joliet Herald News All-Area honoree… also played for the Chicago Wildcats summer league team.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was winning the JUCO national championship at Joliet… his father has been a major influence on his sports career because “he was always pushing me to get better and always worked with me”… most admires Joliet athletic director and coach Wayne King because “he was a very respected coach and the youngest coach inducted into the JUCO Region IV Hall of Fame”… son of Gary and Ruth VoitikMAJOR: Kinesiology and Sports Studies with a Teacher’s Certification.
