Biography

2009: Lindquist played in 46 games and started 38 times, splitting time in center and right field… began the year as the starting right fielder but took over in center after the injury to Brett Nommensen… led the team with a .434 batting average after becoming the starting center fielder, reaching base safely in 20 of the 21 games… made a number of highlight-reel caliber catches and registered a pair of outfield assists… batted .465 and hit four of his six homers in conference play… hit safely in each of the final nine OVC games of the year… was 4-for-5 with the bases loaded… reached base safely to begin an inning 54 percent of the time… batted .341 with runners in scoring position and recorded 11 of his 27 RBIs with two outs… with a runner on third and less than two outs, registered an RBI in five of his six opportunities… led the team with a .390 average and walked more than he struck out in home games… also batted .429 in true road games… registered 11 extra-base hits and a .487 on-base percentage after drawing 14 free passes in April… went 13-for-29 in the month of May, hitting safely in each of the first seven games… batted .392 in midweek action, with 10 of his 20 hits going for extra bases… played his way back into the starting lineup with a 12-for-24 showing during the 13-game win streak… led the way with 17 hits a .447 average during the season-long, 10-game homestand… homered twice in game one of the Southeast Missouri doubleheader and finished the twinbill 5-for-9 with three runs scored… posted four-hit efforts in wins at Saint Louis and against Blackburn College… doubled twice and knocked in four runs in the win at Chicago State… homered and scored three times in the rubber game win at UT Martin… homered in his final at-bat at Coaches Stadium… hit safely and scored a run in all three games of the Eastern Kentucky series.

Lindquist played in 55 games and started 50 times, primarily in right field… shared the team lead with four outfield assists… collected 10 of his 19 RBIs in OVC play while batting .284… his .424 on-base percentage in conference play was third best on the squad… reached base safely in all six postseason games en route to a 7-for-22 showing… reached safely 43 percent of the time to begin an inning (18-of-42)… batted .321 (18-for-56) and was a perfect 6-for-6 in basestealing opportunities at home… bounced back from a tough April with a strong May, batting .364 with eight extra-base hits, nine RBIs, 14 runs scored and a .478 on-base percentage… threw out a runner at home from right field to end the top of the third inning in the OVC Tournament win against Jacksonville State… reached base safely in each of the final 13 games of the season… jump-started his season by hitting safely and driving in a run in all three games of the OVC-opening series against Morehead State… hit an opposite-field homer off the scoreboard in the blowout win against Illinois in Mattoon… also went deep in the series finale at Southeastern Louisiana and the opener of the Southeast Missouri series… delivered a big two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning of the victory against Vermont, the first win of the year… reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances, doubling twice, in the series opener at Tennessee Tech… walked three times in the series-opening wins against Murray State and Jax State… went 5-for-9 with a home run, three RBIs and four runs scored in the doubleheader split with Southeast Missouri… reached safely twice and knocked in a pair of runs during the 10-run sixth inning in the win against Evansville… reached base safely four times and scored twice in the must-win, regular-season finale at Eastern Kentucky… posted consecutive two-hit efforts in the upset wins over top-seeds Samford and Jacksonville State at the OVC Tournament… ignited the comeback effort against Oral Roberts at the NCAA Regional with a leadoff double in the third inning, scoring EIU’s first run of the game.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: He was a 2007 first team all-region honoree at Elgin Community College (in suburban Chicago)… helped lead ECC to the NJCAA World Series both years, finishing fifth in 2006 and seventh in 2007… also earned second team all-conference honors as a sophomore.

HIGH SCHOOL: He lettered in baseball and football, playing baseball for coach Paul Hoel… Daily Herald and Suburban Life All-Area selection in both baseball and football… All-West Suburban Conference honoree in baseball… helped lead Hinsdale South to regional and sectional titles… also played for the Skagit Eagles, a summer league team based in Skagit City, Wash.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was winning the 2008 OVC Tournament title and qualifying for the NCAA Lincoln Regional… his father has been a major influence on his sports career because "he has always pushed me to better myself"… most admires Manny Ramirez because "even though it seems as though he doesn't work hard, there's no way he could be that good without hard work"… son of Ray and Mary LindquistMAJOR: Kinesiology & Sports Studies.
