EASTERN ILLINOIS - 2013 (RS-SENIOR): Played in all 14 games making two starts against Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech in the middle part of the season... finished year with 49 tackles (35 solo)... season high 10 tackles at Austin Peay with seven solo stops... season high two tackles for lose at APSU, had 7.5 for the year... one fumble recovery at Tennessee State... 2012 (RS-JUNIOR): Played in all 12 games as a back-up linebacker... had first career start at Central Arkansas making a career high 16 tackles (8 solo)... was named the OVC Newcomer of the Week for efforts in Central Arkansas game... had five tackle games against Austin Peay and Jacksonville State... one tackle for loss at Tennessee Tech... 2011 (JUNIOR): Transferred to Eastern Illinois in spring of 2011... sat out 2011 season at EIU due to NCAA transfer rules.

CONCORDIA (Minn.): Played two seasons at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minn... played in all 12 games as a sophomore in 2010 as the team finished at 8-4 appearing in the Mineral Water Bowl... finished season with 29 tackles (12 solo), one tackle for loss and one forced fumble... appeared in nine games as a freshman in 2009 starting the final four games of the year... made 41 tackles (21 solo) with 4.5 tackles for loss... had a season high 14 tackles against Upper Iowa.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Naperville North HS for coach Larry McKeon... helped squad win IHSA Class 8A state championship as a junior where he was the starter at left guard... was named the Conference Lineman of the Year as a senior... All-Area selection... honorable mention All-State... during two years as a varsity starter team posted a 23-2 record... IHSFCA Academic All-State as a senior.

Personal: Majoring in business... son of Ron and Mimi Helms... mother played softball at Miami of Ohio while dad was a wrestler at MacMurray.
