Tyler Stevens joined the head coach Kim Dameron's Eastern Illinois staff on a full-time basis in the summer of 2016.  He is the running backs coach.

During the 2016 season Stevens coached first team All-OVC running back Devin Church as he rushed for more than 1,000 yards to lead the OVC in both rushing and touchdowns.  Church was a multi-faceted running back that led the Panthers in both rushing and receiving during his senior season.

Stevens was a student-assistant coach for the Panthers offensive unit in 2014 and 2015 helping coach with his father, EIU offensive coordinator Greg Stevens.  In that role Stevens helped with the break down of film and during games would help with offensive game signals.

Following the 2015 season Stevens joined the staff at Snow College in Utah helping coach the team during spring practice.

Stevens played football at Snow College and completed his bachelor's degree at Eastern Illinois in 2015.  He and his wife Geniya live in Charleston.
