Biography

2015 (SENIOR): Appeared in seven games as a starter on special teams and back-up offensive lineman... member of offensive line that ranked fifth in the NCAA and first in the OVC in fewest sacks allowed... offensive line allowed only nine sacks all season including no sacks in final eight games... offensive line ended season with streak of 636 consecutive plays without a sack... 
2014 (JUNIOR): Appeared in all 12 games as a reserve offensive lineman... helped block for an offensive line that ranked in the top twenty in the nation in total offense and rushing offense... starter on special teams unit for field goal, extra point and punts... 
2013 (SOPHOMORE): Appeared in seven games as a reserve offensive lineman... helped block for the nation's top offensive unit that set school and OVC records in total offense, passing offense and scoring offense...
2012 (RS-FRESHMAN): Played in 12 games with most of playing time coming on special teams or in short yardage situations... caught two passes for 16 yards... one catch for 12 yards against Austin Peay and one for four yards at Western Michigan... moved to tight end position from offensive line during 2012 spring practice...
2011 (FRESHMAN): Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Started at left tackle for Wheaton-Warrenville South HS playing for coach Ron Muhitch… helped team post a 14-0 record as a senior as WWSHS won the IHSA Class 7A state championship… team was 13-1 during junior season also winning IHSA Class 7A state championship… helped team average 46.9 points per game including accounting for 424.3 yards of total offense each game during senior year… starter on high school boy’s volleyball team that was ranked second in the state… All-DuPage Valley selection in volleyball… All-State in volleyball.

PERSONAL: Son of Dane and Mary Beth Luhrsen... sisters Katie and Annie both played volleyball at Illinois... brother John played volleyball at Ohio State.
