EIU: 2008 Outlook: Will start for third straight season... solid runner stopper in the middle who is a candidate for All-OVC honors... 2007: Started all 12 games leading team with 9.5 tackles for loss... had two sacks... made 26 tackles with 18 solo... top performance was against Tennessee Martin with four tackles including three for loss... 2006: Transferred from Illinois in summer and started 12 of 13 games for EIU... named to All-OVC Newcomer team... had 23 tackles with four quarterback hurries and two tackles for loss... had a pair of four tackle days against Indiana State and Tennessee Tech.

ILLINOIS: 2005: Played in two games, one as a defensive lineman (San Jose State) and one as a tight end (Wisconsin)... 2004: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-time all-conference performer as an offensive and defensive lineman for head coach Stan Helms at Herculaneum High School... named to the KJFF Dream Team two straight years... team’s Most Valuable Player... PrepStar All-Region... school’s first three-time all-state player... nominated to play in the Army All-American Bowl... helped lead team to conference and district titles in 2001 and 2003... earned letters in football, basketball and track... student body Vice President.

PERSONAL: Majoring in physical education... No. 1 sports highlight was "going 10-0 during senior year and playing that season with his brother"... son of Mark and Judy Sobol... mother, Judy, played tennis at Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State)... father, Mark, was a NCAA Division II All-American defensive tackle at Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State).
