Biography

EIU: 2007 Outlook: Projected as a starting tight end in the fall after four starts last season... 2006: Appeared in all 13 games with four starts... caught 20 passes for 150 yards... lone touchdown was in a win over Samford... had seven catches in playoff loss to Illinois State... 2005: Played in all 12 games, did not have any pass receptions... 2004: Lettered as a ‘true’ freshman catching six passes for 45 yards and three touchdowns.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-time Chicago Sun-Times First Team Class 3A All-State for coach Al Martin at DuQuoin which was 11-2 and reached the semifinals of the IHSA Class 3A in 2003 and was runner-up in 2002... was also Illinois Football Coaches Association Class 3A All-State, Champaign News-Gazette Special Mention All-State, three-time Southern Illinoisan All-Area, three-time All-Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference, First Team Academic All-State and freshman class President... he was team’s all-sack leaders and started most games in DuQuoin history (40)... also lettered in basketball, track and baseball.

PERSONAL: Majoring in political science... enrolled in the university’s Honors College... son of Jim and Kathy Campanella.
