EIU: 2008 Outlook: Will start for second straight season at strong safety... All-OVC honors candidate... 2007: Second team All-OVC... started all 12 games ranking fourth on team with 67 tackles (32 solo)... second on team with two interceptions against Murray State and Jacksonville State... season high nine tackles in opener versus Tennessee Tech... 2006: Started two games playing outside linebacker at Hawai'i and free safety against Southeast Missouri... appeared in all 13 games finishing with 34 tackles, two tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries... lone interception came at Samford... 2005: Had two tackles in brief appearances as a true freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped for coach Patrick Smith at Lakeland’s Jenkins HS... earned all-conference honors... was team captain.

PERSONAL: Physical education major with an emphasis in sports management... son of Billy Sams and Angela Barnum.
