NOTRE DAME: 2006: Attended Notre Dame but did not play footall... 2005: Walk-on that did not participate in any games as Notre Dame finished year 9-3 losing to Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl... 2004: Redshirted as a walk-on under head coach Tyrone Willingham.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Lockport High School playing one year of football for coach Bret Kooi... helped lead team to a 12-2 record and a Class 8A Illinois State championship... earn first team All-SICA Blue Conference selection as a senior... first team All-Area by Daily Herald... Champaign News Gazette first team All-State... IHSA Coaches Association Academic All-State... also lettered in baseball, soccer and water polo.

PERSONAL: Majoring in exercise science... No. 1 sports highlight was "winning the state championship my senior year in high school"... son of Bob and Donna Gritzman... an uncle, Don Borchel, played basketball at Eastern Illinois.
