EIU: 2008 Outlook: Will be special teams starter and reserve tight end... will also see time at fullback in EIU H-Back sets... 2007: Started at tight end/H-Back in 12 games... had 10 carries for 27 yards scoring touchdowns against Tennessee State & Jacksonville State... also caught 14 passes for 106 yards with two additional catches going for two-point conversions... 2006: Had one reception at Hawai'i and one special teams tackle at Samford... 2005: Missed season due to injury... 2004: Medical redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-time Northwest Herald All-Area for coach Jim Stuglis at Crystal Lake South... earned Class 6A HM All-State honors... was also two-time First Team All-Fox Valley Conference... team MVP... he holds school career rushing record... earned ten prep letters in track (4), football (3) and basketball (3)... honor roll student.

PERSONAL: Majoring in sociology... No. 1 sports highlight was “making the all-state team my junior year”... son of Lon and Heather Steckel.
