AUSTIN AKERS CAREER STATISTICS

SENIOR (2012-13):  Played in 31 games making 30 starts... led team in assists with 123 which ranked 9th in the OVC... finished season ranked 4th in the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.08 to 1)... season high eight assists at UT Martin and against SIU Edwardsville in regular season finale... averaged 5 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per contest... season high 13 points at UT Martin along with season hgih seven rebounds at UTM... had 12 points against Southeast Missouri and 11 points against Central Arkansas...

JUNIOR (2011-12): Played in all 29 games starting the final six games of the season... helped EIU win three straight over Tennessee Tech, UT Martin and SIU Edwardsville in his first three starts handing out eight assists compared to only two turnovers... finished the season with 63 assists and 28 turnovers for a 2.3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio... season high eight assists against Morehead State... averaged 1.3 points per game with a season high of seven points against Eureka College... had five games with five or more assists.

OLNEY CENTRAL COLLEGE: Played two seasons at Olney Central College for coach Mike Burris... earned first team NJCAA All-Region 24 honors and All-Great Rivers Athletic Conference honors as a sophomore leading team to an 18-13 record... led team with 13.5 points per game and ranked 53rd nationally with 4.7 assists per game... added 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game as sophomore... for his career knocked down 76 3-pointers starting all 62 games at OCC... second team All-GRAC as a freshman averaging 11.5 points, 3.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game.

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned honorable mention All-State honors as a senior playing for coach Ernie Maesch at Northview HS... finished his prep career with more than 1,000 points... averaged 19.5 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals per game as a senior... three time All-Conference selection.

PERSONAL: Son of Theresa and Blaine Akers... memorable sports moment was "hitting a game winning shot against rival school"... grandfather Chuck Sanders played football at Indiana University... uncle Jim Sanders played baseball at Indiana State.
