DeMarcus is a heralded sprinter from Springfield Southeast HS... was a four-time Illinois state champion in the 100 and 200 meter sprints. Brooks won the IHSA Class AA state title three straight years in the 100 meter dash winning his senior title with a time of 10.68... his personal and school record is 10.4... capped his career with a state title in the 200 meters winning with a time of 21.37... featued in Sports Illustrated Faces In the Crowd Segment.
