Biography

2008: Horing did not see action in a regular-season game… played in all three exhibition games, scoring the upperclassmen’s first goal in the intrasquad match.
 
2007: Horing played in seven games, including both contests in his homecoming at the UMKC Invitational… played a season-high 22 minutes against Western Illinois… also logged double-figures minutes against UMKC, IUPUI and Valparaiso.
 
2006: He played in 16 games, including five of the six Valley contests and the MVC Tournament match against Missouri State… tallied his first career assist on Brad Earl’s game-winner in the home opener against Asbury College… knocked the ball in from the midfield stripe at IPFW but the officials ruled the improbable goal did not beat the halftime buzzer... registered a pair of shots on two occasions.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: He was a four-year soccer letter-winner for coach Austin Benton… also lettered twice in basketball… set single-season (29 in ‘04) and career (81) goals records at his high school… was the top high school scorer in Johnson County as a junior in 2004… first Hyman Brand Academy student in 39 years to go on to play Division I soccer… his Premier VB Stars Club Team was a two-time (2003-04) Kansas State Cup finalist… picked for the 2005 U.S. National Maccabiah Youth Soccer Men’s Team, taking fifth place at the International Maccabiah games in Israel in the summer of 2005… honor roll student.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was being selected to play for the National Maccabiah Youth soccer team and scoring the game-winning goal against the Brazilian team in Israel with his Israeli relatives watching… his mother has been a major influence on his sports career because “her love of soccer influenced me and most of my success is due to her. She always encouraged me to raise my level of the game and reach my potential”… most admires Michael Jordan because “of his strong work ethic, his intense determination to win and his success in raising the level of play of his teammates”… son of Michael and Shoula HoringMAJOR: Sociology.
