Biography

2007: Friesen played in 13 games and started four times… started the UAB, Valparaiso, Drake and Asbury College matches, going the distance UAB and Valpo… scored the game-winning goal in the win over IPFW… helped EIU post a shutout streak of 436 minutes early in the season and eight shutouts total, a new program record in the Valley era… logged double-figure minutes 10 times, averaging 48 minutes per game in those contests… logged 50 minutes in the win at Western Kentucky, a season-high total during MVC play.

HIGH SCHOOL: Friesen was a three-year letter-winner for coach Brett Pummill at Raymore-Peculiar High School… three-time All-Mid-Six Conference selection, highlighted by back-to-back first team nods as upperclassman… as a senior also garnered Western Missouri Elite 11, first team All-Western Missouri, Kansas City Star All-Metro Honorable Mention, and MSHSAA Honorable Mention All-State recognition… Honorable Mention All-Western Missouri as a junior… two-time team captain and defensive MVP as an upperclassman… Ray-Pec was conference champs his sophomore season… his Kansas City Legends ’88-89 club team was state runner-up in 2006… National Honor Society and principal’s honor roll student.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was playing in a soccer tournament in England with the SuperClubs national team… his father has been a major influence on his sports career because “he’s always pushed me to reach my full potential and he always has great advice when things aren’t going well”… most admires Michael Jordan because “there will never be another basketball player as good as him”… son of Rick and Glenda FriesenMAJOR: Undecided.
