2008: Ryan did not see action in a regular-season game… played in all three exhibition matches, making three saves in 30 minutes to help lead the underclassmen to victory in the intrasquad game.

2007: Ryan redshirted during his first year with the program.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: He was a four-year letter-winner for coach Pablo Rubin de Celis… also lettered twice in tennis… became the first SSHS goalkeeper to earn all-sectional honors after posting school records for shutouts and fewest goals allowed as a senior… his goals allowed total in ‘06 was the second best in Central State Eight Conference history… all-conference goalkeeper as a senior after earning honorable mention recognition as a junior… MVP of the ‘06 Lanphier Kickoff Classic… team captain and defensive MVP his senior year… three-time CSEC All-Academic Team selection… four-year honor roll student… also played the for the SASA Premier U-19 club team.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was shutting out rival Springfield High 1-0 his senior year… his parents have been a major influence on his sports career because “they have encouraged me throughout my whole life, and have driven me miles and miles for games”… most admires current Blackburn College coach Aydin Gonulsen, a two-time NAIA National Coach of the Year at Illinois-Springfield, because “he has accomplished so much and carries himself with such great class”… son of Michael and Christina Ryan… MAJOR: Marketing.
