2008: Genenbacher was redshirted during his first year with the program... scored twice in the August intrasquad exhibition game to help lead the underclassmen to victory.

HIGH SCHOOL: Genenbacher was a four-year varsity letter-winner for coach Greg Reis… two-time All-State selection by the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association as an upperclassman… also a two-time team captain and MVP… finished his career ranked among QND’s all-time Top 10 in scoring… offensive team MVP and all-sectional pick as a sophomore… earned all-tournament team honors at the Tri-State team camp, QND Labor Day Classic and Peoria Mid-State Elite Eight Classic… led QND to a runner-up finish in the IHSA state playoffs his sophomore year… super-sectional champs and Elite Eight qualifier in 2004… also played for the Quincy United club team… class president and leadership conference attendee as an underclassman… four-year honor roll student and member of the German club.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was finishing second in state in 2005 and playing in a four overtime/penalty kicks game that year… the late Lee Dancer has always been a major influence on his sports career because “he always told me it does not matter what sport I play as long as I always try my hardest”… most admires Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski because “he is such a motivated person and always expects the best out of everyone”… his cousins Audra and Morgan Frericks played soccer at EIU from 2001-05 and helped lead the Panthers to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances… numerous other cousins have also played collegiate soccer, including Alexis Arment at Tulsa… son of Dave and Carrie Genenbacher… MAJOR: Undecided.
