2008: Scheffers did not see action during his final year as a member of the program.

2007: Scheffers played in six games… logged double-figures in minutes in EIU wins against IPFW, Valparaiso and Asbury College… played a season-high 17 minutes at Asbury… registered his lone shot of the season in the Valpo victory.

 

2006: He played in nine games, including Valley contests at Bradley and Drake and the MVC Tournament contest against Missouri State... played in both games at the UW-Green Bay Nike Classic and the overtime win at Western Illinois.

 

2005: Played in seven games, including four MVC contests… saw action in five of EIU’s eight home matches.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: He was athree-time All-Suburban Prairie Conference selection for coach David Lichamer… two-time team captain and team MVP… 2004 all-sectional… named to Chicago Fire prep special mention academic all-state team… led Sycamore to a runner-up finish in the 2004 IHSA state playoffs... SHS also was a four-year conference, regional and sectional champion… National Honor Society, High Honor Roll and earned Rockford Register Star Young American Award.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was “winning the USA Cup in memory of our teammate’s brother who died at the age of nine in that same month”... his father has been a major influence on his sports career for “starting me in soccer and never giving up on me while I learned the game”… most admires Nigerian great Dotune because “he plays for the true love of the game and not for recognition”… enjoys table tennis, pool and bike riding... son of Jim and Jan Scheffers... MAJOR: Special Education.
