Biography
PREP: Earned a letter for head swim coach Brian Bower at Charleston HS... broke the 50-Free record... plus a member of the 200 and 400-Free and 200-Medley Relay units that competed at sectionals... earned Honor Roll all four years... exceeded in reading, writing and science on the PSAT... member of the National Honors Society.
PERSONAL: Planning on majoring in engineering... son of Mike & Laurie Gann... No. 1 sports highlight was "setting high school record in the 50-Free during my senior year"... credits his father for having the biggest influence on his sports career, "because he pushed me to succeed and have determination even when it seems tough."
OUT OF THE WATER: Adam chose EIU "because of the location and the cost... plus they have a strong swimming squad"... also enjoys longboarding, road trips and hanging with friends in his spare time... has musical talents, as he can play guitar, the drums, keyboard, saxophone and bass... currently driving a 1999 Dodge Ram... favorite meal is steak... would love to meet Clint Eastwood, who he credits for having his favorite quote of "You gotta ask yourself one question ... are you feeling lucky?"... favorite t.v. show is Workaholics... recently enjoyed taking Professor Blitz's chemistry class... since coming to EIU he has learned "how to manage time"... can't go anywhere without his phone... his advice to a young swimmer is "to eat a lot of healthy food... alot."
