Biography
2008-09: Second Team All-Summit League after swimming in three relay events at conference meet, all of which set new EIU records... he swam the third leg in the 200-Free Relay (1:24.08), 200-Medley Relay (1:34.05), and 400-Medley Relay (3:27.01)... finished the season with a top three times both the 100-Fly and 200-IM, earning the first and third best finishes, respectively, in just sophomore season... more importantly, he also earned a Top 10 listing in the EIU record books for his individual time in the 100-Fly....Â
2007-08: Competed in 12 events last season... had 30 top-five finishes as a freshman in individual and relay events... including a first place honor versus Millikin in the 200-IM....Â
PREP: Earned four letters for coach Joyce Bruett at Danville HS... named swimming team captain both his junior and season years... was MVP, high point earner and garnered most improved times his senior season... set a new 200-IM record as a junior... was also on the football squad....Â
PERSONAL: Sociology/criminal justice major... former teammate of his brother, Thomas, who swam alongside Cody during his freshman and sophomore seasons... son of Mark & Kathy Showers.
