2013-14 ... Saw significant action as a true freshman... including setting season-best times at the Summit League meet in the 50 and 100-Free, as well as the 100-Breast races... also competed in the 100-Back and additional breast events... joined the EIU squad as a member of the 200 & 400-Free and 800-Free Relay units.

HIGH SCHOOL ... Three-sport athlete for coach Ray VanHootegem at Galesburg HS... earned four varsity letters in swimming while also a member of both the football and track squads as well for one season... earned Western Big 6 All-Conference honors in the 100-Breast, as he broke multiple records... earned league championship honors in the 100-Breast as a senior... also a member of the both the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society... conference academic kudos... named an Illinois State Scholar... recognized by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association as an Academic All-American.

PERSONAL ... Majoring in kinesiology and sports studies... son of Terry & Susan Woolsey... born on October 12... No. 1 sports highlight was "breaking the school record in the 100-Breast"... credits his dad for having the biggest influence on his sports career, "because he was very athletic in high school and I wanted to achieve my own successes in a sport he could not participate in."

OUT OF THE WATER WITH COLTON ... "Woolz" chose EIU "because I really liked the feel of the campus and I wanted to go to a Division I school... plus Eastern is big enough but has a small campus feel"... enjoys any sport that he can... drives a 2003 Chevy S10... enjoys dining on fettuccine alfredo.. dislike tomatoes, mushrooms and onions... favorite movie is O' Brother Where Art Thou?... wishes he could bring his friends from home with him to EIU... his advice to a younger athlete is "listen to your coaches, they're just trying to make you better"... favorite quote comes via Terry Woolsey -- "embrace the suck"... goal while at EIU includes "earning a Top 5 time in the 100-Breast."
