Biography
COACH BOS SAYS: “Joe was a Second Team All-Conference performer at last year’s league championship and is our best returning middle distance freestyle swimmer... he’s probably strongest in the 200-Free and keeps improving each year, so I expect him to once again be a challenger at the Summit meet and at each dual this season”....
2007-08: Had season-best times in the 50-Free, 100-Free and 200-Free at the conference meet, finishing in 9th, 10th, and 5th place, respectively... earned second consecutive All-Conference honors.... touched the wall first in 13 individual/relay events over the course of the season....
2006-07: Earned second place in the 200-Free at the Panther Invitational, while capturing seventh in the 100-Free and fifth in the 200-Free at league meet, earning him a Second Team conference honor... finished in the top-five 23 times over the course of the year... member of the record-breaking 200 and 400-Free Relay squads, swimming the anchor leg in the 200 event and second leg in the 400....
PREP: Picked up All-Conference honors for coach Brian McGuire at Rockford Boylan HS....
PERSONAL: Communications/advertising major... son of Ron & Kay Ethington.
