COACH BOS SAYS: “Thomas was a second team all conference performer last year finishing second in the 100 back (52.45). That also ranks in the top five performances all time here at EIU. If Thomas can improve upon little things technically he can make a run at our school record in the 100-Back... he will also be a key to our medley and freestyle relays as well”.... 

2007-08: Swimming in 12 meets, he placed in the top-five in 34 individual/medley races... including touching the wall first in 10 events... captured a runner-up honor at the league meet in the 100-Back, with a season-best time of 52.45.... 

2006-07: Turned in impressive swims for the Panthers at both the EIU Invite and league championships... placed in the top-five 16 times over the course of the season... finished sixth in the 100-Back and eighth in the 200-Back at the conference meet, where he swam a majority of his best times on the year.... 

PREP: At Danville HS he swam for coach Janet Drennan, earning four letters while also being named team captain as a senior... set a new school record in 100-Back... also earned Commercial News and News-Gazette honors.... 

PERSONAL: Sociology/criminal justice major... swims alongside his younger brother, Cody, who is a sophomore on the EIU squad... son of Mark & Kathy Showers.
