HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIOR COLLEGE: Attended Charleston High School where he played under tennis coach Justin Livingston… earned two varsity letters in both soccer and tennis… was part of NJCAA Tennis Region Championship at Lakeland College prior to transferring to EIU…. 

PERSONAL: Plans to major in Sports Management… son of Jim & Barb Ippolito… number one sports moment was participating at the NJCAA nationals… athlete or coach he most admires is Bill Cowher, “because he coached the Steelers”…. 

FUN STUFF: Chose to come to EIU, because “it is a very affordable state college”… favorite former EIU athlete to watch is Tony Romo… one of his hidden talents is playing disc golf… favorite foods are barbeque ribs, pasta and pizza but doesn’t care for salad… favorite musical group is Led Zeppelin… favorite t.v. show is The Office… professor whose class he enjoyed the most is Dr. Oliver… favorite building on campus is the Student Rec Center… advice he would give to younger athletes is, “keep your head up”… a personal goal he wants to achieve is “to graduate and make money”…. 

BLACKBURN SAYS: “Anthony has been a real shot in the arm to the intensity of our practices and team atmosphere... he has college tennis experience playing for Lakeland Community College and I’m excited to see him get his stride back this semester and hopefully make a big impact on the team this spring.”
