2013-14 ... Saw limited play as a senior, going 2-1 overall in singles-only action... that included a 1-0 mark at No. 4 and 1-1 record at the No. 6 spot... nabbed an OVC victory over his TSU opponent... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2012-13 ... Registered a nice 5-2 overall mark in singles action as a junior, which included a 4-2 record in OVC action... played mostly at the No. 6 spot in the Panther lineup... went 1-2 at No. 3 doubles when teamed with both newcomers Ryan Henderson and Rui Silva.

2011-12 ... Went 2-12 in singles play, seeing action at both the No. 5 and No. 6 spot in the lineup... was teamed alongside three different fellow Panthers -- Jamie Firth, Matyas Hilgert and Warren Race -- in doubles play, doing 3-4 overallin his sophomore campaign.

2010-11 ... Finished with a 1-5 mark in singles play as a true freshman... saw action in just one OVC contest.

HIGH SCHOOL ... Multi-year tennis competitor while also competing in track his senior year for coaches Brad Wilson and Ben Grais at Niles West HS in Skokie... earned All-Conference accolades both as a sophomore and junior... qualified for state as a junior... twice named team MVP... elected as team captain from his sophomore to senior year.

PERSONAL ... 'Vova', as he choses to be referred to, earned a degree in kinesiology and sports studies... son of Iryna Zverkovska and Andrey Shostak... No. 1 sports highlight was "making it to state my junior year"... credits his dad for having the biggest influence on his sports career, "because he introduced me to the game and has been pushing me to be the best since I started playing."

OFF THE COURT WITH VOLODYMYR ... Chose EIU "because it is away from home, but not too far away... I also heard great things about it"... feels EIU's location and proximity to other big schools is an advantage for EIU as compared to other schools in the Midwest and in the OVC... enjoys playing basketball, football, volleyball and soccer... in his free time he likes to hang out with frends, listen to music and watch movies... loves eating spaghetti and lasagna, but doesn't care for anything with mushrooms... favorite tv show is Family Guy... his family dog is a Russian Black Terrier... would love to switch places with Roger Federer for a day, "because I would want to see how it feels like to be the best in the world"... since coming to EIU he has learned "what it's like living without my parents telling me what to do on a daily basis"... his advice to a young player would be "to love the game of tennis, because if you don't love the game, then college tennis isn't for you"... personal goal while at EIU includes "I want to perform my best on the court and in the classroom on a daily basis."
