Biography

2015 ... Maintained her full-time duties at shortstop in her final season as a Panther... ranks second on the squad for hitting, but leads the way in runs, doubles, homers, RBI, and assists... she continues to move up the EIU record books ranks for all-time batting, at bats, runs, hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, slugging %, assists, and double plays... her 15 multi-hit and 10 multiple-RBI games leads the squad as well... a full-time hitter at the No. 3 spot for most of the season.

2014 ... Secured a spot on the OVC All-Tournament Team following her fine weekend play at the end-of-season event as a junior... started at shortstop in all but one game... went 4-for-5 in stolen bases and connected on 12 extra base shots, including five homers... tallied nine multiple-hit and a trio of multi-RBI contests... hit in multiple spots in the lineup but saw most her hitting at the No. 7 spot... added her name to the EIU career record books... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2013 ... Started at shortstop in all 50 games as a sophomore... hit mostly at the No. 5 spot in the starting lineup... finished with 11 multiple hit games and nine multi-RBI contests... enjoyed a seven-game hitting streak at one point in the season... hit .313 for the season, off 47 hits, including 10 doubles and six homeruns... finished third on the squad with 31 RBI numbers... named to OVC Second Team by the online sports site collegesportsmadness.com... EIU Career Rankings:  5th in slugging % (.506)... 6th in doubles (29)... 8th in batting avg. (.334)... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2012 ... Had a steller premiere season in an EIU uniform, as the freshman earned Second Team All-Ohio Valley Conference and OVC All-Newcomer honors... led the squad in hitting with a .351 clip, which included 66 hits, 23 of which were of the extra-base hit variety... had three homers, a triple, and 19 doubles... those 19 doubles tied for 2nd in the EIU single-season records, while also ranking in the NCAA Top 10... which included a national second place ranking for a time... nailed her first career grand slam as EIU run-ruled Alabama A&M in mid-March... she also earned several single-season marks as a true freshman... recorded a new freshman mark for at-bats with her 188 appearances, as she was the lead-off hitter for most of the season... also a fixture at shortstop with 51 starts... led the squad with 19 multiple-hit games... enjoyed an 11-game hitting streak at one point... had four hits as EIU defeated Murray State... nailed a pair of doubles against both TTU and JSU... nabbed 'OVC Freshman of the Year' and 'OVC First Team' kudos from the College Sports Madness online publication... OVC Top 10 Rankings:  Overall -- 1st in doubles (19)... sixth in hits (66), T-8th for total bases (96)... 10th in batting (.351)... in OVC-only games -- 1st in doubles (11) ... EIU Season Rankings:   T2nd in doubles (19)... 4th in total bases (96)... 5th in at-bats (188), which also set a new freshman mark... and T-5th for total hits (66)... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL ... Four-time softball letter winner for coach Dean Gregory at Buchanan HS in Clovis, California… member of the squad that won the Valley Championship her sophomore year, which marked her favorite personal sports moment thus far… earned numerous all-tourney and all-league honors, including Rookie of the Year kudos as a freshman… plus named MVP of the Arroyo Grande Tourney as both a sophomore and junior… two-time first team conference honoree… won the Buchanan Bear Award and garnered Second Team All-State honors as a senior… set school-record with 47 RBI in her season year and 115 for her career… her Buchanan squad won several championships over her career, including Valley and Tri-River Athletic Conference honors… named to Honor Roll each year.

PERSONAL ... Majoring in kinesiology and sports studies… her parents – dad Ritchie and mom Troy – have had the biggest influence in her sports career, “because without them there’s no way I’d be where I am now”… born on September 28... No. 1 sports highlight was “winning the Valley Championship game my sophomore year”… previously played on Victory USA Gold and Fresno Force summer club teams.

OFF THE FIELD WITH BAILEY ... ‘Bay’ or ‘Bails’ chose EIU “because when I came on a visit I liked the coaches, the girls and the school … seemed like a pretty perfect fit for me”… thinks some of EIU’s advantages over other OVC and instate schools include “not being a huge school and not a small school either… the perfect size where things aren’t too overwhelming and not impossible to find your way around”… also enjoys competing in intramural volleyball… one of her hidden talents is that she can, on average, read a book a day… currently driving a 2008 Jeep Wrangler… enjoys reading on her Kindle, going to the movies and out to eat, and driving around in her Jeep with the top off… loves eating Sushi and fried rive, but not much of a fan of eating corn… her family own several dogs, including ‘Roxy’, an Aketa mix, ‘Lizzie’ a lab, and ‘Balto’ & ‘Abby’, both Bichon Frise/Pomeranian mixes… if she could switch places with anyone for a day it would be one of her parents, “so that I can see what their lives are like having me and my brother as their kids”… recently enjoying taking Mark Rubel’s evolution of Jazz & Rock class… since coming to EIU she has learned “the responsibility of living on my own, as well as being in college and a student-athlete”… favorite building on campus is the Doudna Fine Arts Center… can’t go anywhere without her iPhone… wishes she could bring the In-n-Out Burger to Charleston from her hometown… her advice to a younger athlete would be “to consider EIU, because everyone is nice here, like literally, and the team has a real family feet to it”… personal goals while at EIU include “doing well in school while playing softball so that I’ll graduate and be able to become a physical therapist.”
