Biography

2008: Mackie was one of three Panthers to start all 46 games, playing a team-high five different positions (catcher, first base, second base, left and right field)… also batted cleanup a squad-best 27 times… led the team in RBIs, runs scored and multi-RBIs games… connected for a career-high four home runs… was also hit by a pitch a team-high seven times, leading to more free passes (16) thank strikeouts (13)… was the only regular that did not commit an error in OVC play… reached base safely to begin an inning 47 percent of the time (16-of-34)… collected nine of her 27 RBIs with two outs… struck out just once in 34 plate appearances at home… registered more than half of her RBIs and runs scored totals in true road games… batted .343 (12-for-35) with a team-best 10 RBIs in neutral-site contests… hit three of her four homers and led with team with 11 RBIs in April… batted a team-best .389 (14-for-36) with 12 RBIs in post-spring break midweek action…delivered a two-run single in the first inning of the season… collected her first career triple in the loss at Tulsa… hit safely in all four games of the UT Chattanooga Frost Classic, driving in three runs in the win over Buffalo… posted a career-long and team-best seven-game hitting streak, registering five multi-hit efforts during her streak… delivered a game-ending single in the eight-run rule win against Austin Peay in the nightcap of the home-opening doubleheader… threw out the potential game-winning run at home from right field in the extra-inning win at Tennessee-Martin… hit a two-run homer and reached base safely in all three of her plate appearances in game one of the doubleheader at Illinois… singled in front of Denee’ Menzione’s two-out, seventh-inning homer in the series-opening win at Jacksonville State… hit a solo shot of her own in the nightcap of that doubleheader at JSU… also connected for a big two-run homer in the sixth inning of the victory at Ball State… plated the game-winning run in the series-opening win at Morehead State with a suicide squeeze bunt… reached base safely and scored twice during the nine-run inning in the victory against Eastern Kentucky… EIU Single-Season Rankings: 10th in home runs… EIU All-Time Rankings: 10th in home runs.

2007: UCA Spring Clash All-Tournament Team… Mackie played in 52 games and started 50 times, primarily at first base (26) and designated player (20)… did not commit an error in 192 fielding chances… delivered her second career walk-off hit to lift EIU to a 1-0, 10-inning victory over Morehead State… reached base 33 percent of the time when leading off an inning… batted .288 with runners on base and collected 10 two-out hits… was 2-for-2 as a pinch hitter… batted cleanup a team-high 26 times after that was the only spot in the order in which she did not hit at least once in 2006… collected 14 of her 15 RBIs in EIU wins… began the season hot, going 8-for-16 with three extra-base hits and six RBIs at the UCA Spring Clash to earn All-Tournament Team honors… finished the month of February batting .353… also led the team with a .320 average in March… struck out just three times in 56 April at-bats… went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored in first win over Alabama A&M… hit her first career home run in that game… hit safely in 10 of the first 13 games in which she played… also posted a three-hit effort against San Jose State… scored a run, collected an RBI and stole a base in the home-opening win against Indiana State… registered an RBI double in her two-hit effort in the series-opening win against Tennessee State… scored the game-winning run in the game on her sister's sacrifice fly… batted twice in EIU'seight-run inning against SEMO, scoring her first time up and knocking in a run later in the frame with a sacrifice fly… scored twice and collected an RBI in the win over Illinois… delivered the key hit in EIU'stwo-out, four-run rally in the sixth inning of the Jacksonville State win… nine multi-hit games, three multi-RBI efforts.

2006: Mackie played in 48 games, starting 45 times and seeing action at catcher, first base, second base and in right field… lone Panther to bat at least once in eight of the nine spots in the order (all but cleanup)… collected four of her eight RBIs with two outs… batted .318 with five walks at the Rebel Games while hitting leadoff for much of the tournament… collected three hits and an RBI versus Valparaiso… walked twice, scored twice, stole a base and singled in the win over Binghamton… registered a hit in both games of the home-opening doubleheader against IUPUI… hit safely in six of the first nine games of the season, including a pair of two-hit efforts, en route to batting .286 in the month of February… collected a two-run single in key early-season victory over North Texas.

2005: started 46 games, seeing action at catcher, second base and left field before settling into right field for the conference season… went 6-for-11 with three two-hit games, four RBIs and three runs scored in series against Jacksonville State… in back-to-back games in the JSU series she hit a game-winning double in the bottom of the seventh and a game-tying two-run double in the bottom of the seventh to send the game to extra innings… went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in rubber-game victory over Morehead State… posted a six-game hitting streak between March 20-26… hit safely in 14 of the first 18 games… went 5-for-18 with a pair of runs scored at the Bank of Hawai’i Invitational… finished the Indiana State Wolfe Sycamore Classic 7-for-16 with a pair of doubles and a team-high four runs scored… second on the team with 12 multi-hit games, seven coming in OVC play… two multi-RBI games, both in OVC play.

HIGH SCHOOL: Robyn was a softball letter-winner for coach Ron Ramspott... named conference MVP by league coaches in 2003... honorable mention all-state the same year... 2002 Golden Glove and Super Slugger awards winner... earned Renaissance honors for classroom excellence... four-year scholar athlete... played for the St. Louis Wiplash summer league team.

PERSONAL: She would like to pursue a career in chiropractics... No. 1 sports highlight was hitting a game-winning double against Jacksonville State... her parents have been a major influence on her sports career because "they are always willing to do anything for me to make my game better. They are the ones who helped me get to EIU"... most admires her former coach Ken Bertha because "he taught me a lot about softball but even more about life"... her older sister Heather played softball at Truman State in Missouri... daughter of Bruce and Chris Mackie... MAJOR: Physical Education.
