Biography

SENIOR (2008-09): Kluempers played in 31 games and started 30 times… missed the Indiana State and Illinois State games after suffering a broken pinkie finger early in the win against IPFW… returned when conference play resumed Jan. 3 at Jacksonville State and rejoined the starting lineup in the next game at Tennessee Tech… the injury ended her streaks of 43 consecutive games started and 101 consecutive games played, both the longest on the team at the time… ended her career having played in 121 games, a new program record… scored in double-figures four times, including a season-high 14 points in the home win against Jacksonville State… made some clutch shots in the OVC Tournament, including: EIU’s final two field goals in the first-round win against Tennessee Tech and a 3-pointer with 29 seconds left in the championship game that helped send the contest to overtime… also made a big 3-pointer in the final five minutes of the Illinois-Chicago victory… scored 11 points in the regular-season opener and finale, both EIU victories… finished the year with more assists than turnovers… averaged 7.3 points per game in the OVC Tournament to rank third on the team… shot 56 percent from the field, including 6-of-10 from 3-point land, in February.
 
JUNIOR (2007-08): OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll... Kluempers started all 32 games, the only Panther to accomplish the feat… entering the season, she had played in every game her first two years but never been in the starting lineup… after entering the season 1-of-19 from 3-point land, made 21-of-44 behind the arc to establish a new EIU single-season percentage (.477) record… made what proved to be the game-winning shot in the double-overtime win at Jacksonville State, banking in a short jumper with 15 seconds left, en route to finishing with 11 points… stepped up big in the OVC Tournament win against Southeast Missouri, scoring nine points on 3-of-5 shooting… followed that up with seven points and five rebounds in the championship game against Murray State… posted those numbers after not scoring and playing just 12 minutes in the opening-round win against Tennessee State… scored a career-high 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting in the win at Morehead State… scored 10 points in the home win against Murray State thanks to a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from the field… scored 10 points in the overtime win at Eastern Kentucky thanks to a career-high 8-of-8 showing at the free throw line… scored 13 points in the win at UT Martin after making a personal-best three 3-pointers… scored in double-figures in three straight games on the tail end of EIU’s six-game winning streak… made 26-of-30 at the free throw line in OVC play and 23-of-25 in true road games… had more assists than turnovers in league play… was a perfect 16-of-16 at the free throw line during EIU’s 5-0 December… connected on 13-of-22 3-pointers in January and February.
 
SOPHOMORE (2006-07): OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll... Kluempers played in all 29 games… scored a season-high 14 points and did not miss a shot (4-of-4 from the field, 6-of-6 at the line) in the win over Illinois-Springfield… also registered a personal-best four steals versus UIS… contributed a pair of key second-half baskets in the home win over Tennessee Tech… recorded nearly as many offensive rebounds (29) as defensive (31)… made 12-of-13 free throws in the first four games of the year… was 13-of-16 at the charity stripe in home games… made 6-of-9 field goal attempts in the month of January… played a season-high 20 minutes twice, in the season-opening win over Bradley and home loss to Southeast Missouri.
 
FRESHMAN (2005-06): OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll... Kluempers played in all 29 games… scored a season-high 10 points at Charleston Southern… tallied eight points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field in the win at Samford… posted eight points and a season-high nine rebounds at Jacksonville State… scored in 14 straight games upon returning from the season-opening tournament in Hawaii… tallied a season-high five assists at Tennessee Tech… played the entire five-minute overtime period against Butler, connecting on her lone 3-pointer of the season in the same game… tallied five points, seven rebounds and three assists at Wisconsin, playing a season-high 26 minutes… finished the year with more assists than turnovers.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Kluempers was a four-year letter-winner for coach Haley Beauchamp at Hamilton Southeastern High School in suburban Indianapolis… also was a three-year letter-winner in volleyball… two-time all-conference and all-county pick in 2004 and 2005… team captain senior year in basketball and volleyball… three-year conference champion (2003-05) and 2004 Hall of Fame and county champions… all-conference and all-county volleyball honors in 2005… four-year honor roll student... her 2005 AAU team won the 19-and-under Indiana State Championship.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was leading HSE to the Hall of Fame Classic title with wins over Bloomington North and East Chicago Central… her parents, family and friends have been a major influence on her sports career because “they have always supported me. With out my parents, girls and Bill Zoeller, I would never be where I am today”… her sister Kristen is a freshman basketball player at Murray State... her uncle Rick Darragh played basketball at Butler… enjoys spending time with friends, going to the lake, traveling, singing and dancing, and anything that makes her laugh… daughter of Kurt and Terry KluempersMAJOR: Marketing.
