Biography
2014-15 ... Saw significant action as a true freshman... led all Panthers with an 83.3 stroke average, including a pair of Top 10 finishes... best mark was a sixth place tie at the SIU Saluki Invite... earned 48th place at the end-of-season OVC meet... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
HIGH SCHOOL ... Played for coach Steve Milligan at Jasper HS in Indiana... four-time Big 8 All-conference honoree... also advanced to the state, earning four consecutive finalist kudos... twice voted MVP of her squad, as well as earning Best Team Player, Newcomer and Most Improved honors... finished as the individual medalist at the state sections and placed in Top 4 at the regional event... three times her Jasper unit earned state finalist plus sectional and regional kudos... including a high of 9th place in the state... earned Outstanding Girl Award, graduated 10th in her class and awarded the Marilynn Smith Scholarship from the LPGA... member of the National Honor Society.
PERSONAL ... Marketing major while at EIU... daughter of Eric & Paula Getzin... born on May 8... No. 1 sports highlight was "finishing 11th in the state with an under-par round"... credits Roger Lundy, as well as her father, for having the biggest influences on her sports career.
OFF THE LINKS WITH ANNIE ... Chose EIU "because I look good in blue!... plus since Eastern is a small school, we are a closer campus with more support from every sport, not just a few"... also enjoys playing basketball, bowling, listening to music, and shopping... she has a knack for cutting and using coupons... currently driving a Toyota Camry, which she has named 'LeRoy'... enjoys sleeping, eating and watching netflix (especially scary movies) in her free time... favorite tv show is Grey's Anatomy... family owns a mug dog named 'Tucker' and a spoiled cat named 'George'... she would love to get the chance to meet Zac Efron... recently enjoyed taking professor Patterson's history class... since coming to EIU she has learned "that I really miss home cooked meals"... her favorite building on campus is the Doudna Fine Arts Center... wishes she could bring her little sister to campus with her... her advice to a younger golfer is "you have to love it... it won't be easy and there are times where it will challenge you to the point of giving up... and that's when the love comes in."
