Biography

EIU (2006-07): Earned First Team All-OVC honors after leading the team her junior season... competed in all fall and spring events, despite playing with a sore hand for most of the season... finished with a 78.0 average off 22 rounds and 1,716 strokes... tied for second place in two tournaments, first at the Butler Fall Invite and again in the UMKC Classic... finished in the Top 25 nine times over the course of the season... including six Top 10 finishes.... 

EIU (2006-07): Named to OVC All-Tournament Team... played in every meet, completing 22 rounds of golf... had a stroke average of 82.3, which included seven rounds in the 70’s... her best round was a 73 at the Huskie Classic... finished first for the Panthers three times... tied for fifth place at the OVC championships.... 

EIU (2005-06): Played in all 10 tournaments for EIU completing 23 rounds... finished with a stroke average of 81.5, including seven rounds in the 70’s... her best golf came in the second round of the UMKC Classic, shooting a 71 to tie her for first place... had a second place finish at the Western Illinois Tournament.... 

HS: Attended Hall High School in Spring Valley, Ill., earning three varsity letters in golf... also earned varsity letters in basketball and softball... won regional championship her sophomore and junior years... captured a sectional championship as a senior... IHSA qualifier all three years, tying for 18th as a senior... elected team MVP her junior and senior years... named team captain... earned Peoria Journal Star ‘Women’s Golfer of the Year’ honors in 2004... three-time News Tribune ‘Golfer of the Year’ and Bureau County Republican ‘Girl’s Golfer of the Year’.... 

PERSONAL: ‘Paddy’ is the daughter of Ed & Kathy Riordan... a marketing major... her greatest sports moment came this past summer “when I finished tied for seventh in the Illinois Open... I finished five-over-par for the tournament with a 71-73-77 scorecard”... the biggest influence on her golf game has come from her dad, “because he was always there supporting me... if it wasn’t for him I would not be where I am today”... her brother, Cory, was a two-year member of the Illinois Valley Community College golf squad... chose to come to EIU “because of coach Moncel... he’s not only a great guy, but also a great coach”... enjoys dining on pizza and fried chicken from ‘Rips’, but dislikes fish... enjoyed taking professor Scott Preston’s business coach here at EIU... one of her hobbies is scrapbooking... a personal goal she hopes to achieve while at EIU is “to win the Ohio Valley Conference in golf”... her favorite tv shows are Reba and Family Guy... currently driving a ‘04 Oldsmobile Alero.... 

COACH MONCEL SAYS: “Carrie is solid… she’s obviously our go-to girl… she’s been a force in every tournament she has played in… she’s a great leader and definitely has the potential to win conference.”
