Biography
2008: Playing in every game her senior year, Amanda earned the Panther Award as one of the team’s co-captains... set a new school record for assists in a season, tallying an amazing 31 total, which smashed the previous high of 22... a true team leader on the field, she recorded two personal bests for assists (4) and runs-over-20-yards (2) against Iowa State and Colorado, respectively... career assist and steals-at-tackles totals of 46 and 31 rank as third highest on the all-time list....
2007: Amanda competed in all ten games on the season... set four new single-game career bests over the course of the year, including tying the record for assists with six in the romp over EKU... had personal best 10 tackles at Indiana and her four steals at tackle versus Ohio State earned her a four-way tie at the top of that stat category in the record books... currently listed in both the single-game and single-season records book twice... and career-wise she also has two listings, is 10th in career assists (10) and tied for fifth for steals at tackle (17)....
2006: She earned the Most Improved Award for the season , playing in nine of the ten contests where she notched 22 solo tackles... had a season-high seven solo tackles versus Indiana... scored ten points via two trys... also stole at tackle four times....
2005: Amanda recorded five tackles, including seven tackle assists... saw action in five games....
HS: Earned ten letters in volleyball (2), basketball (4), and track (4)... earned basketball all-conference and three-time all-tournament honors... state qualifier and team captain in track... three-time MVP of track team... competing in discus and shotput... member of honor roll and Honor Society....
PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was “beating Hamilton County for regional championship in basketball”... athlete she most admires is Diana Taurasi, “because she is an amazing player”... daughter of Kim Fields and Mike & Patty Fromm... biology major, with a goal to become either a veterinarian or teacher....
FUN FACTS: Amanda’s favorite food is sushi... lists the Fourth of July as her favorite holiday... currently drives a 2004 Jeep Liberty... her lab/pit bull mix is named Tuff... enjoys camping, horseback riding, and spending time with family....
COACH GRAZIANO SAYS: “Amanda culminated her career with a brilliant senior season... she was able to lead the offense with timely kicking, smooth passing, quick decision making, and understanding of how our game plan is executed... defensively she set the tone for her midfield defenders which resulted in the opposition rarely challenging our backs... her career statistics only show half her value to the team as she has been one of our best leaders and most respected players.”
