Biography

2008: Ashley’s senior year was cut short due to a serious biking accident, which resulted in two broken arms... did play in two games, registering one solo and two assisted tackles in the opening win versus the Wisconsin All-Stars.... 

2007: Ashley improved her defensive stat numbers as a junior... earned 11 solo tackles at Indiana... had four assisted tackles and two steals at tackle in the first Illinois contest.... 

2006: Played in nine contests and recorded 22 total tackles, 12 of which were unassisted... had five tackles, plus one assisted stop against Texas A&M... transferred from Olivet Nazarene, where she played on the NCCAA National Championship softball squad....

HS: Attended Lincoln-Way East HS where she played four years of softball and one season of basketball... member of the 2002 IHSA state championship softball squad... was named MVP her freshman season in softball.... 

PERSONAL: A marketing/advertising major... daughter of Stanley & Margaret Lukaszewski.... 

FUN FACTS: ‘Lukas’ currently drives a 2002 Ford Taurus... if she could bring anything from her hometown to EIU, it would be her terrier/shitzu dog, ‘Benji’ and Portillos... her advice for a younger athlete is “have patience... don’t be afraid of the unknown... always get back up... and listen to everything coach says”... enjoyed taking Professor Riedemann’s business class... her favorite quote is “don’t think, just do”... her hobbies include playign softball and photography.... 

COACH GRAZIANO SAYS: “Ashley had an excellent career, anchoring the scrum by playing in the hooker position... was crucial to our lineout play as the thrower... our lineouts are the most dynamic in the nation and having an accurate thrower was a big part of our success... she also improved her tackling and was a force around the rucks and mauls.”
