2013 ... Saw zero action in her lone season in a Panther uniform.
HIGH SCHOOL ... Under a large host of coaches, Jamie played rugby at Plainfield HS where she was a four-year letterwinner... she earned 'Rookie of the Year' as a freshman, 'Up & Coming Player' in 2011, 'Club Women' in 2012', and both MVP and 'Captains Club' as a senior... her high school rugby squad twice earned state championship honors, first in 2012 and then again in 2013 with an undefeated record... her 2010 squad nabbed state runner-up kudos... was a multi-year honor roll member.
PERSONAL ... Her No. 1 sports highlight was when her high school squad won the 2012 state rugby title... "we had a brand new coaching staff and many of our players were also new... it was 90 degrees and tons of people were watching... the match went back and forth in a tough game, but in the end we finally won... it was one of the proudest moments in my life"... credits her coaches for having the biggest influence on her sports career, "because they have all put up with me for so many years... they always push me to do my best both on and off the field... they have taught me everything I know about rugby and life... they are the reason I love rugby"... daughter of James Marmalejo and Gina Boeckman... planning on majoring in pre-physician assistant.
OFF THE PITCH WITH JAMIE ... 'Marm' chose EIU, "because the rugby team caught my attention and I really wanted to play"... also enjoys playing hockey and fishing... drives a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo... her worse job was working at Dairy Queen... loves dining on steak and pizza... she can't go anywhere without her rugby ball... her family owns a chihuahua dog... her advice to a younger athlete is "to never give up... it may seem hard but I promise it pays off in the end."
