Biography
2009: Playing in all but two games, Kristy tied her career high steals-at-tackle mark in EIU’s win at Ball State.
2008: Kristy missed only the Purdue game... had a new career best six solo tackles in EIU’s win over Kansas... also had three separate steals-at-tackle....
2007: Kristy participated in all ten contests as a true freshman... in the game at Indiana, she recorded three solo and assisted tackles... earned one tackle assist in the historic West Chester contest... member of EIU’s Honor’s College....
HS: Kristy played club rugby while at St. Charles North HS, earning a varsity letter... high honor roll student....
PERSONAL: An accounting major... daughter of Steven & Julia Young... her number one sports highlight was “scoring my first, and so far only, try in a rugby contest versus Noble Street her senior year in high school”....
FUN FACTS: Chose EIU “because they have the number one rugby team in the nation”... enchiladas are her favorite food, but bananas and yogurt are her least favorite... enjoys scuba diving and golf... her advice to a younger athlete is “work hard”... if she could switch places with anyone for a day, it would be a sound engineer at band concerts, “because that is my dream job”... if she could bring anything from her hometown to EIU it would be “Target and/or Barnes and Noble”... her goal is to “graduate with honors”....
