HIGH SCHOOL ... Viano was a four-sport athlete at Minooka Community HS in Channahon... besides volleyball, also earned three letters in soccer and a pair each as a member her prep basketball and tennis squads... nabbed team MVP honors and most offensive award in tennis and volleyball, respectively, while also securing the Indian Athletic Leadership Club Arrow Award... her basketball squad earned a pair of regional titles in 2012 and 2013, as did her soccer unit in 2013 as well... four year member of both the Honor Roll and National Honors Society, in addition to two Scholar-Athlete accolades and winner of the DAR Award.

PERSONAL ... Planning to major in dietetics while at EIU... daughter of Michael & Jayne Viano... born on August 23... No. 1 sports highlight was "winning three regional titles in high school"... credits her two older sisters for having the biggest influence on her athletic career.

OFF THE PITCH WITH LACEY ... Chose EIU "because I loved the campus"... also enjoys swimming, baking, tennis soccer, basketball, and reading... her hidden talent is being able to touch her nose with her tongue... currently driving a 2002 Red Honda Civic... her favorite food is her mom's bacon carbonara, while she dislikes eating brussel sprouts or movie popcorn with too much butter... her best vacation memory was "a recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park"... her family owns a Yorkie-Poodle named 'Pepper', who she would love to bring to school with her... wishes she could switch places with a famous surfer for a day, "because I love everything about the beach and it has always been something I've wanted to try"... would love to be able to meet Lana De Rey... her advice for a younger athlete would be "to always try something new because until you do, you wont know if you like it or not... also, it is special to be a student-athlete"... her favorite quote comes via Frank Ocean -- "work hard in silence, let success be your noise"... her life goals following her time at EIU include "to live a happy and healthy life."
