Biography

2009: Lauren had an outstanding first season as a Panther, as she picked up three prestigious year-end award -- Freshman Award, Strength & Conditioning Award and co-Outstanding Offensive Award... played in all ten games, notching at least one stat number in each of the categories, including leading all players with 25 trys, 139 points and 25 ROTs... finished with five trys in the two season finales and added seven two-point conversions in EIU’s rout of SIU... plus had 10 tackles in the home opener... has already found a home in the EIU record books for Top 15 career points, trys and runs-over-20-yards... naturally also listed in Top 15 single-season marks for the same three stat categories.... 

HS: Four sport letterwinner in volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track for coaches Melanie Merano, Mike Fulk and Denna Williams at Macon Meridian HS... also a member of the cheer squad... set school records for both the 200-meter run and long jump... earned all-county for track and basketball during her junior and senior seasons... member of the 1,000 point basketball club... earned High Honor Roll awards all four years.... 

PERSONAL: Undecided in a major, Lauren is the daughter of Phil & Jenneth Doyle... credits her mom for influencing her sports career, “because she is so encouraging and positive”... admires coach Richard Phillips “because he made me a better athlete and excel in everything”.... 

FUN FACTS: Enjoys eating chicken and rice and green beans... favorite TV show is ‘Real World’... name of her cat is ‘Waldo’, while she’d love to have her dog, ‘Coco’, a pomeranian/chuwawa mix with here while at EIU... chose to come to Eastern “because I have always admired the school since I came here my sophomore year for track”... personal goals while at EIU include “getting a good education and eventually a good job that pays well.”
