2009: Mandie, a transfer from Lincoln college, played in all but one game this season... ran in two try in EIU’s 1030 win at SIU... had a season-high three assisted tackles in the season finale.... 

HS/JC: Four year letterwinner in track and two in both cross country and cheerleading while at Galesburg HS... while at Lincoln College, pran cross country and track and medaled as a member of the swim squad.... 

PERSONAL: A secondary education and English and speech major, Mandie is the daughter of Geoffrey & Julie Hurd... credits her mom for influencing her sports career, “because no matter what I do she will always be there to cheer me on”.... 

FUN FACTS: Mandie chose EIU “because of my major, plus EIU, as well as the people there, are very warm and friendly”... also enjoys playing soccer and basketball... her secret talent is being able to write her own songs and sing well... drives a 2005 Yellow Colbalt LS... her favorite dish is orange juice chicken... has a cocker spaniel named ‘Buddy’... her advice to a younger athlete is to “have fun and try your best”... lives by the saying “tough times don’t last but tough people do.”
