Biography

2009: Shear played in eight games, seeing her first regular-season action since 2007 after an injury sidelined her a season ago… saw action in six of the eight OVC games and the OVC Tournament contest after not making her season debut until game No. 10… logged a season-high 49 minutes in the loss to UT Martin… also played 40-plus minutes against Austin Peay and Jacksonville State.

2008:
OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll... Did not see action in a game after suffering an injury in the preseason… granted a medical redshirt. 
 
2007: Commissioner’s Honor Roll... Shear played in 11 games and started twice, the road games at Bowling Green and UT Martin… logged double-figures minutes in eight of the 11 games she played in… played a season-high 68 minutes in the overtime loss at UT Martin… also logged 50-plus minutes against Eastern Michigan and Western Illinois.
 
2006: OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll... She played in four games, including the overtime win against Loyola and the OVC opener against UT Martin.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: She was a four-year varsity starter for her mom, coach Terri Shear… also played three years of varsity volleyball… two-time First Team All-State honoree as an upperclassman and team captain… three-time Daily Tribune Dream Team selection… three-time all-region and all-district… second team all-state in 2004… Clawson won its district in four consecutive seasons (2003-06) and captured the regional crown in the spring of ‘06… her United Soccer League and Michigan Hawks club teams were both State Cup champs… National Honor Society… four-year class president... Jackie Palmer and Scholar Athlete award winner.

PERSONAL: No. 1 sports highlight was winning the regional finals as a senior after losing the previous three years… her family has been a major influence on her sports career because “they have all been behind me in everything I do and I couldn’t ask for better support”… most admires her mother because “she cared about her team more than any coach I’ve ever seen and molded it into a winning team”… her brother Gary played soccer at EIU from 1996-97... daughter of Gary and Terri ShearMAJOR: Biological Sciences.
