2013-14 ... Saw action in the free, back and butterfly as a senior... earned Top 3 season marks in both the 100 and 200-Fly events.

2012-13 ... Added her name to the EIU Top 10 times with a strong time in the 100-Fly at the end-of-season Summit League event... also competed in the 50/200-Free and 50/100-Back events.

2011-12 ... Competed in seven individual events, setting season-best times in the 100-Back and 100/200-Fly events at the Summit League meet.

2010-11 ... As a true freshman, saw action in the 50, 100 and 200-Back… plus both the 100/200 Fly and 200-IM… both her times in the 100 and 200-Fly ranked as the second fastest by a Panther all season.

HIGH SCHOOL ... Played soccer and swam for coaches Judy Busse and Chris Busse at Downers Grove North HS… earned the Troujan Pride award for fall swimming… captain of the squad as a senior… earned a spot at state as an alternate for the medley Relay team as a sophomore, junior and senior… placed sixth in the 100-Back at sections as a senior… three-year Honor Roll kudos.

PERSONAL ... Majoring in psychology… daughter of Jim & Kathy Smith… born on April 2... No. 1 sports highlight was “when I got the 200-Fly senior champ cut and then a year later getting the 100-Fly senior champ cut”… credits her mom for having the biggest influence on her sports career.

OUT OF THE WATER WITH JADA ... ‘Jada Jada’ chose EIU “because I fell in love with the team when I came on my recruiting visit and really liked the coaches”… also enjoys running, playing soccer and volleyball… drives a Jeep Cherokee… enjoys going out, watching movies and getting her nails done… loves a variety of food, including pizza, hamburgers, Olive Garden bread sticks, Chipotle, and mashed potatoes… but dislikes seafood… would love to be able to switch places with actress Jennifer Aniston for a day, “because I love her”… can’t go anywhere without her cellphone… her advice to a younger swimmer is ‘don’t give up even if you feel like you can’t do it anymore, you can and I promise you it will all pay off in the end”… one of her goals while at EIU include “placing at the conference meet."
