Finished her four-year Panther career in good form as she set numerous personal marks over the course of the year, while seeing significant action in the middle attack at the midway part of the season until the end of the year... hit a career-high 15 kills, off 32 attempts, in the Panthers' tough season-ending loss to EKU in the league tourney... her 17 points in that same match also set a new all-time tally... hit a season-high .455 in EIU's home win over APSU... tallied five-of-more blocks in five contests while she also registered 15+ points twice...

2012 ... Saw action in just five matches as a junior ... recorded five blocks in a crucial Panther win over EKU to set a new personal mark... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
2011 ... Played in 23 matches as a sophomore... tied or improved on nearly all her season statistical highs... including twice nailing 10 kills... fired a high of .529 as EIU swept Chicago State, as she nailed 10 kills and had just one miscue... twice collected four blocks and secured a high point tally of 12.0 in a four-set win over Coppin State... OVC Commisioner's Honor Roll.
2010 ... Saw mostly early-season action, playing in eight matches... had her best outing versus Bryant as the Panthers earned runner-up honors at the Harvard Invitational, as she recorded three block assists in that contest... OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
HIGH SCHOOL ... Three sport athlete at Oakwood HS for coaches Lynn Anderson and Rick Bough in volleyball, track & field, and basketball, respectively... captured huge amount of awards over the course of sports career... as a four-year varsity starter in volleyball, she was a two-time All-Vermilion County and Valley honoree... named the Danville Commercial-News 2009 ‘Player of the Year’, while also named to the all-area team by the same publication twice... earned Honorable Mention All-State kudos as well... led her squad in kills, blocks, aces and total digs as a senior... as a basketball player, she also was tabbed with three All-Vermillion County and Valley awards... named to all-area squads and ‘Player of the Year’ by both the Danville Commercial-News and Champaign News-Gazette... earned First Team and two Second Team All-State honors... notched school marks for total points in a season, career and single-game record at the Vermillion County Tourney... area leader for scoring average per game and field goal percentage... in track & field, she is very familiar with the EIU campus, as it plays host to the IHSA State Meet, where she has advanced as a high jumper three times during her high school career... also competed twice in the long and triple jumps... placing second this past spring in the triple jump... set new school marks in both events as well... was tabbed as the Female ‘Athlete of the Year’ by the Champaign News-Gazette this past spring... Oakwood won the basketball regional in 2009 and in 2009-10 claimed the Vermilion Valley Conference meet title... member of the High Honor Roll all four years... played club volleyball for the Danville Crush.
PERSONAL ... ‘Joey’, her nickname, credits her family for being the biggest influence on her sports career, “because they have always been there to support me through the good and bad times”... her No. 1 personal sports moment was “finishing second in the triple jump at the 2010 IHSA State meet held at EIU.”
OFF THE COURT WITH AMY ... Earned degree in elementary education... daughter of Paul Martin & Shannan McCarter... born on December 10... wishes she could bring her family dog, Sammy, to campus with her... chose EIU, "because the education programs are one of the best and the location is close to home... plus the size is perfect... big enough to be competitive... yet small enough to get the attention needed to succeed"... favorite foods include chicken alfredo, cheesecake and fruit... her favorite quote is "failure isn’t falling down... it’s staying down”... currently driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am... her advice to a younger athlete would be "don’t ever give up... practice hard and stay focused"
