Biography


2015 ... Preseason All-OVC ... finished with a team-high 333 kills and a 2.97 kills-per-set average during her senior season... set a new single-match highs in attacks with 56 against SIU Edwardsville, service aces (2) on three different occassions, and recorded 14 digs at IPFW... recorded a pair kill-dig double-doubles against Illinois-Chicago and IPFW... hit above .450 one time during the season when she hit at a mark of .467 (7-0-15) at Murray State... totaled 15-plus points nine times, including a 23 point effort against SIU Edwardsville... EIU Top 10: Finished her career with the fourth best kills-per-set average of 3.04... EIU Top 25:  Reached the 1,000 kill club at SEMO, as she ended her career ranked 11th all-time with 1,110... totaled the 15th most attack attempts for a career with 2,893... ended in sole possession of the 17th best career point total (1,208) and tied for 17th in career hitting % (.226)... OVC Top 10: Ended the season with the eighth most kills-per-set in OVC matches only (3.20) and 10th most points-per-set in conference only matches (3.45).
   
  
2014 ...
 Preseason All-OVC ... Ball State Challenge and Penn State Alumni Classic All-Tournament Teams ... finished second on the squad in both kills and points as a junior... playing in every match, she set three new single-season highs, including nailing 28 kills in EIU's key win over instate rival DePaul... also had two solo blocks in the tough season-finale loss to Belmont... tallied 15-of-more kills on 12 occasions to up her career tally to 17 all-time... also secured 15-plus points 14 times, which included a 29.5 mark against the Blue Demons... for the first time in school history, an EIU volleyball player faced off against her own sister on the court as Chelsea battled her younger sibling, Simone, in the Panthers' tough road match at eventual NCAA champion Penn State... EIU Top 25:  In single-season ranks during the current rally-scoring era, she ranked 6th for kills (406) and 8th in points (437.0)... career-wise, she sports the 15th best Panther hitting % (.230), while her kills-per-set tally of 3.07 is fourth best during the NCAA DI era... has a good shot at adding her name to both the 1,000-Kill and 1,000-Point Clubs next season... OVC Top 10:  Ranked 9th (3.20) and 7th (3.39) for kills-per-set for the entire season and in league-only matchups, respectively.

2013 ... OVC 'Offensive Player of the Week' (9/9/13)... Drake Bulldog Invitational All-Tournament selection... had a standout sophomroe campaign as she earned her first career kill-dig double-double vs. Loyola (Chicago) thanks to a career-high 21 put-downs and 13 digs... twice hit over .450, including a .475 clip against South Dakota State... on five occasions nabbed 15+ kills... naturally set a new all-time best point tally with 23.5 against the Ramblers of Loyola... roofed six attacks in a home win over Austin Peay... tallied 15+ points in nine contests... EIU Top 10:  Placed in several single-season categories during the 25-Point scoring era... OVC Top 10:  Ranked 6th and 9th, respectively for kills and points for the season, while also ranking in both for league-matches, in addition to hitting % of .271 in OVC-only action.

2012 ... Competed in seven matches as a true freshman... nailed a season-high eight kills off 19 attacks for a .211 clip at home versus OVC rival SEMO ... also registered a block versus Duquesne at the Penn State Classic.

HIGH SCHOOL ... Chelsea was a four-year letterwinner for coaches J.C. Bruns and Kristin Stein at Menomonee Fall HS ... earned multiple All-Conference honors over the course of her career ... which included First Team and All-State Honorable Mention kudos as a senior ... also named Second Team and HM state honors as a junior and league honorable mention as a sophomore... Menomonee Falls tallied three conference champships with her on the squad ... in addition to a sectional title her junior year, plus advancing to the WIAA State Semi-Finals ... a four-year Honor Roll award winner.

PERSONAL ... Majoring in communication studies, with a public relations concentration... daughter of Arthur & Karen Lee... her younger sister, Simone, is a member of the national champion Penn State volleyball squad... born on April 8... No. 1 sports highlight was "when my high school squad made it to state my sophomore year and we played a really intense five-set match to get us there"... credits her parents for having the biggest influence on her sports career, "because they always support me and push me to be my very best"... played for the Milwaukee Sting volleyball club squad... both her parents ran track in college, while her uncle, Clyde Duncan, is a track coach at his alma mater Texas Southern.

OFF THE COURT WITH CHELSEA ... Chose EIU "because it's a great team ... I love the coaches and the school is awesome"... feels some of EIU's advantage over other schools are "the team is so much fun and the school is great"... also enjoys swimming, hanging out with friends, shopping, and watching movies... one of her hidden talents in being able to play the piano... favorite foods include pizza, salmon, mac & cheese, and shrimp... but she doesn't care too much for chicken... she can't go anywhere without her iPhone... her best vacation memories was "one year we went to New Orleans for a volleyball tournament ... it was a great experience and I definitely want to visit the city again"... her family own a pair of cats named 'Goldie' and 'Tiger'... would love to meet Beyonce some day... her biggest pet peeve is "when people chew with their mouths open"... her advice to a younger volleyball player would be "visit a lot of colleges and always stay in contact with coaches ... it will help your recruiting process a lot"... her personal goals while at EIU include "graduating on the Dean's List and to have four awesome seasons with the volleyball team."
