South Dakota State Challenge All-Tournament Team ... as the full-time starting setter, she notched a single-season best 1,378 assists during her junior campaign, which ranked second in the OVC... she also helped the Panthers earn runner-up league honors for total kills, assists and attack %... added ten assist-dig double-doubles to her career tally of 32 such performances... set a new single-match career mark for kills as she putdown nine shots vs. Northern Colorado... twice tied her personal best block tally with five stuffs at eventual league and tourney champ Murray State, in addition to EIU's key sweep of defending league champ and preseason favorite Morehead State in the home finale... hit over .450 in four contests, including a season-high .562 (9-0-16) versus UNC... also tallied 15-or-more digs three times, with 19 ups in tough five-set home loss to SEMO... Six-Time OVC 'Setter of the Week' (9/23/13, 9/30/13, 10/7/13, 10/28/13, 11/4/13, & 11/11/13) ... played in every match of her sophomore season as she finished as the top assist leader in the league for both the year (11.79 aps) and in league-only (11.07) matches... dished out 1,304 total assists... helped the Panthers pace the OVC in hitting %, kills and of course total assists... also hit .258 on the year behind 109 total put-downs... secured 15 additional assist-dig double-doubles to now sport 22 all-time... hit over .450 in four contests... set new personal bests in nearly every stat category, including 65 assists in tough five-set loss at SEMO, 20 digs in sweep of Murray State and tied for blocks and kills with five and eight, respectively versus Toledo and SIUE... EIU Top 10: 4th in single-season assists all-time and set a new mark for the current 25-point rally scoring era... moved to 8th place in career assists during the DI years and fifth for the current OVC-era (1996-present) with 2,334 all-time numbers... Two-Time OVC 'Setter of the Week' (10/22/12 & 11/5/12) ... saw action in all but one set as a true freshman... led the squad in assists by dishing out 1,030 for a 8.37 per-set average, which ranks as the second most assist total since 2008 (25-point rally scoring) ... also one of the top servers with 30 aces ... registered seven assist/dig double-doubles over the course of the season as she tallied a season-high 59 assists in the home-finale loss to Belmont ... hit .583 behind a season-high seven kills as EIU earned crucial road win at JSU ... scored 10 points, which included a team-high six aces, in an early-season win over rival Indiana State ... her five blocks helped the Panthers set a new school-mark for roofs in a four-set win at Murray State ... EIU Top 10: T-3rd for aces with six vs. InSU... 6th for assists-per-set (8.37) during the entire NCAA DI era ... 6th for aps and 8th in total assists for OVC era... OVC Top 10: Ranked 6th for assists-per-set (0.39) in league-only matches and 8th (8.37) for entire season ... OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
HIGH SCHOOL ... Hails from Decatur, Ind., yet played on the Concordia Lutheran HS volleyball squad in Fort Wayne under coach Tricia Miller ... capped off a stellar prep career by earning The Glass Spike Award as the SAC Conference 'Player of the Year'... also earned First Team league honors three times... other highlights include earning All-Area, All-Northeast Indiana, First Team All-State, and Indiana All-Star Team kudos... member of her Lutheran squad that twice earned SAC Conference championships, three sectional championships, as well as both regional championship and runner-up finishes... joined classmate Abby Saalfrank on the News-Sentinel All-Area squad in 2011... the four-year letterwinner is also set to earn an Academic Honors diploma...
PERSONAL ... Majoring in kinesiology and sports studies, with an exercise science concentration... daughter of Royce & Machelle Bradbury... born on April 18... her older sister, Jorae, played collegiate volleyball, as a four-year setter on the Southern Indiana squad... credits her parents for having the biggest influence on her sports career, "because of all the support they have given me my entire life"... played club ball for the talented Munciana Samurai squad... where she earned her No. 1 sports highlight of "being named to the All-American team at the 2011 Nationals"... in fact, at the 2012 AAU nationals, her club team finished in third place which led to her being named to the All-Star National Team for the second consecutive year.
OFF THE COURT WITH MARAH ... Chose EIU "because of the volleyball team of course ... but during my visit to the school I also really liked the campus... I liked the idea that I could get away from home without being so far away so that my parents can still come watch me play"... feels some of EIU's advantage over other schools includes "smaller student/teacher ratios, which will be a benefit for learning"... also enjoys horseback riding, tubing, plus snow and water skiing, currently driving a 2006 Grand Prix... favorite foods include pizza, homemade mac & cheese... she can't go anywhere without her phone... her best vacation memories was "houseboating on Dale Hallow Lake"... wishes she could meet Ellen DeGeneres... Lantz Arena is her favorite building on campus... one of her pet peeves is "when people use the word 'inquire'"... her advice to a younger volleyball player is "always give your best and never give up even if the odds aren't in your favor"... personal goals she has while at EIU include "getting my degree from EIU before becoming an athletic trainer for a pro sports team."
