Mark Bonnstetter

Mark Bonnstetter was named Senior Associate Athletic Director in the summer of 2009 after serving as Associate Athletic Director for Operations since 2006. He was elevated to Deputy Athletic Director in July of 2020. 

He has also served as head athletic trainer from January 2000 until the summer of 2009. Bonnstetter currently supervises baseball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's track/cross country, men’s and women’s swimming along with strength and conditioning, facilities, athletic training and the equipment room.  

Previously he was assistant athletic trainer at University of Miami (FL) for three years. In addition, he was the coordinator of rehabilitation for all Miami athletes. He previously served as assistant athletic trainer at Southern Illinois from 1993-97. While completing a masters in kinesiology at the University of Michigan (1993), he had graduate assistant duties with both football and wrestling. He was an athletic trainer intern with the Sioux City Musketeers Junior A ice hockey team in 1990-91. He worked the 1992 Rose Bowl, the 1998 MicronPC.Com Bowl and was the trainer for Miami’s 1999 NCAA national championship baseball team.

He is a 1990 graduate of Morningside (Iowa) College. He and his wife, Lori, have three children.
