Eastern Illinois University Athletics

Samantha Reinert was hired as an assistant athletic trainer at Eastern Illinois in June 2023.  She works with EIU football and Panther baseball.   She was elevated to an associate athletic trainer in August 2025.

Prior to her appointment at EIU she worked as an assistant athletic trainer at Maryville College in Tennessee.  She has previous experience working at Minnesota State Mankato with football, baseball, women’s soccer and track & field.  During the summer of 2021 she worked for the Mankato MoonDogs in the Northwoods League.  Reinert has additional experience working at Bethany Lutheran College assisting with basketball, soccer, baseball, softball and track & field.  

She earned her bachelor’s degree (2020) from Georgia College & State University with a master’s degree (2022) from Minnesota State Mankato.
