DICKSON, Tenn. -- Shooting an impressive one-over-par 73, sophomore Gino Parrodi paced all Panthers following day one action at the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference golf championship on Monday, as the Eastern Illinois men's squad currently sit in ninth place.

Parrodi was the lone Panther to finish in the Top 10 on day one play at the par 72, 6,049 yard meet being held at the GreyStone Golf Club.

Senior Matt Bird is currently tied for 27th, with Kevin Flack, David Lawrence, and Francisco Cherizola in 32nd, 37th, and 40th place, respectively.

Action at the three-day end-of-season meet resumes on Tuesday morning, with EIU hitting the links between 8:00 and 8:40 am.

Murray State currently leads the team standings, while UT Martin (2nd), Jacksonville State (3rd), Austin Peay (4th), Tennessee Tech (5th), and Tennessee State (6th) all amazingly seperated by just one stroke.  Eastern Kentucky (7th) and Morehead State (8th), meanwhile, are currently ahead of the Panthers heading into second round action on Tuesday.
