2011 SPRING GPA

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois student-athletes finished the spring semester with success in the class room as 15 of the Panthers 19 intercollegiate teams posted a 3.00 GPA or higher for the spring semester. As an athletic department EIU had an overall team GPA of 3.08 with 57 percent of its student-athletes posting a 3.00 or higher GPA for the semester.

The top team in terms of GPA was the women's cross country squad with a 3.61 GPA. They were followed by the women's tennis team at 3.59 and women's golf team at 3.55. The men's cross country team was the top male squad with a 3.50 GPA.

EIU had 54 student-athletes earn a 4.00 GPA for the semester with an additional 65 students posting a 3.51 or higher GPA.

In addition to success in the class room, EIU also won five team championships during the spring semester sweeping the indoor and outdoor men's and women's track titles along with the regular season softball crown.
