CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Eastern Illinois men's basketball program has announced the signing of LeTrell 'Snoop' Viser to a National Letter of Intent. Viser will have two years of eligibility beginning with the 2014-15 academic year.

The 6-foot-2 guard led Des Moines Area C.C. to a 29-7 record last year, helping the Bears advance to the NJCAA Elite Eight. He also helped the Bears win the conference title and capture the NJCAA Region XI Title where he was tabbed to the all-tournament team.

The Aurora, Ill., native, a 2012 All-Region Academic Team member, averaged 9.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and two steals per game during the 2013-14 season and was named to the All-Region Second Team for the second consecutive year.

"LeTrell is an excellent player and an even better young man," said DMACC head coach BJ McGinn. "I'm very happy for him and I believe Coach Spoonhour and Eastern Illinois University will be a great fit for him. I'm fully confident that LeTrell will hit the ground running and will be able to bring some experience and toughness to the Panthers. He flat out knows how to win."

Viser teamed with current UConn guard Ryan Boatright to lead East Aurora HS to a 24-6 record and an IHSA Sectional Title in 2011.

"You can never have enough guys who know how to win," said Eastern Illinois head coach Jay Spoonhour. "Snoop played for great programs in high school and junior college. He can make shots and create shots. I think he will be very good for us."

Viser joins Corvon Butler and Cornell Johnston in this year's men's basketball recruiting class.
